What Are The Disadvantages Of Inkless Printers?
Jun 15, 2024
Inkless printers, also known as thermal printers, are becoming increasingly popular due to their cost effectiveness and convenience. However, like any technology, they have drawbacks. Here are some of the main disadvantages of using an inkless printer:
1. Limited color options
Thermal printers have limited capacity to produce color prints and cannot print color pictures, thermal paper and thermal heads can not print color images, and can only be used for monochrome printing this is mainly because they rely on heat and certain chemicals to produce images, rather than using traditional ink cartridges.
2. Paper limit
Thermal printers can only use certain types of thermal paper as printing media, and this paper is more expensive than ordinary paper.
3, not suitable for long-term storage
Short storage time of thermal paper: Because the thermal coating on the thermal paper is easy to oxidize after contact with the air, resulting in the fading of printed text and images. Although there are now some high-quality thermal paper, but its preservation time is still much shorter than ordinary paper.
